Short answer
Hostinger is worth it if you want a cheap, simple way to host a small business website or WordPress site and you’re happy to pay for several years upfront to get the lowest price. It is less of a bargain if you only compare the headline price, because renewal prices are several times higher than the introductory rate.

Who this guide is for
This guide is for small business owners, sole traders and freelancers in the US, UK and Australia who are weighing up Hostinger for a first website, a WordPress site or a move from another host. We focus on the costs and plan limits you can check yourself on Hostinger’s site, and we flag anything we couldn’t confirm so you know what to ask before you pay.
What Hostinger is
Hostinger sells web hosting, a drag-and-drop website builder, domains, business email and cloud hosting. For small businesses the plans most people consider are Premium, Unlimited (shown on the builder page as the plan “for growing businesses”) and Cloud Startup. This guide focuses on those three.
Hostinger prices (checked 2 November 2026)
| Plan | Intro price | Upfront for 48 months | Renews at | Websites |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | $2.49/mo | $119.52 | $10.99/mo | 3 |
| Unlimited | $3.49/mo | $167.52 | $16.99/mo | Unlimited |
| Cloud Startup | $7.99/mo | $383.52 | $25.99/mo | Unlimited |
Prices are in USD as listed on hostinger.com before tax. Hostinger was running a Black Friday promotion when we checked, so these prices may change after the sale. Prices are in USD as shown on each vendor’s site; UK and Australian prices may differ and can include VAT/GST.

What the renewal price means in practice
Hostinger states that the renewal price applies “for the same term”. On Premium, the four-year upfront cost is $119.52. If you renewed for another 48 months at $10.99 a month, that second term would cost about $527.52 (our calculation: $10.99 × 48). Factor that into your plans. It’s still low compared with many builders, but it’s not $2.49 forever.

What you get
From Hostinger’s pricing pages we confirmed:
- Premium: 3 websites, a free domain, WHOIS privacy protection, and mailboxes per website free for 1 year.
- Unlimited: unlimited websites and mailboxes, plus AI tools and priority support (as described on the pricing page).
- Cloud Startup: more server resources, described as “for businesses that need maximum performance and scalability”.
- Website builder: “300+ drag-and-drop templates” and a free domain.
- 30-day money-back guarantee, stated on the website builder page.
We haven’t verified uptime, speed or support response times ourselves, so we’re not making claims about them here.
Who Hostinger is worth it for
Trades and local service businesses
If you’re a plumber, electrician, cleaner or landscaper who needs a five-to-ten-page site with a contact form and a phone number, Premium covers that. Three websites on one plan also leaves room for a second brand or a landing page. See our best website builder for plumbers guide for how it compares with Wix and Squarespace for trades.
Small businesses running WordPress
Hostinger’s shared hosting plans run WordPress, which gives you full control over plugins, SEO and design. It’s a sensible budget home for a WordPress site that gets modest traffic.
Agencies and freelancers with several small sites
Unlimited allows unlimited websites, so one plan can host several small client or project sites.
Who should think twice
- People who won’t commit for years. The best prices need long terms. Shorter terms usually cost more per month; check the price for the term you want at checkout.
- High-traffic or resource-heavy sites. Shared hosting has limits. Hostinger’s own page lists resource limits such as inodes on higher plans. Busy online shops may need cloud or VPS hosting.
Hostinger vs the alternatives
| Option | Starting price shown | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Hostinger Premium | $2.49/mo (48 months) | Lowest-cost small site or WordPress |
| Squarespace Basic | $19/mo billed annually | Design-led sites, no tech setup |
| Wix | see Wix’s current plans (prices vary by country) | All-in-one with bookings on Core+ |

Tips to get the best value
- Budget for the renewal price, not the sale price.
- Pick the term deliberately. Four years gives the lowest monthly figure but the largest upfront payment.
- Use the free mailboxes, then plan for their cost after year one.
- Use the money-back window. You have 30 days on the builder plan to decide.
- Keep your domain in your own account so you can move host later.
- Review your plan once a year. If your site has grown, check whether you need more resources; if it has not, make sure you are not paying for extras you never use.
What to check before you buy
Hostinger’s checkout offers several terms and add-ons. Before paying, run through this list so the price you pay matches the price you expected.
- The term length. The $2.49 Premium price is tied to a 48-month term. If you pick 12 or 24 months, the monthly price shown at checkout may be different, so read it there.
- Pre-ticked extras. Check the basket for any add-ons you didn’t choose and remove anything you don’t need.
- Domain ownership. Make sure the domain is registered in your name and that you can log in to manage it.
- Email. Mailboxes are listed as free for one year on Premium. Note the date they start billing so it doesn’t surprise you.
- Renewal date. Put the renewal date in your calendar a month early so you can decide whether to stay, switch plans or move.
How Hostinger fits a trades business website
For a local service business, the hosting is the least visible part of the site, but it matters. A slow page on a phone loses the caller to the next result on Google. Whatever host you choose, keep the site light: compress photos, avoid heavy sliders and use one clear call to action per page.
A typical trades site on Hostinger might include:
- A home page with your phone number at the top, your service area and three or four main services
- One page per main service, written in the words customers search for
- An areas page, or individual area pages if you cover several towns
- A reviews page or section that links to your Google Business Profile
- A quote request form with space for photos
- A privacy policy, because forms collect personal data
If you choose Hostinger’s website builder rather than WordPress, you can build this from a template. If you choose WordPress, you’ll need a theme and a few plugins, such as an SEO plugin and a form plugin.
How we researched this guide
We read Hostinger’s official pricing and website builder pages on 2 November 2026 and copied the prices and plan details exactly as shown. Where something wasn’t stated on those pages, we’ve left it out rather than guess. Read more about our process on our how we test page. Once we’ve run our own speed and support tests, we’ll update this guide with the results and the date.
Our verdict
Yes, Hostinger is worth it for most small businesses that need a simple, affordable site, especially trades and local services. The value holds up best when you plan for the renewal price and choose a long term. If you need lots of resources or very high-touch support, compare cloud or managed options first.
We’ll add speed, uptime and support findings once we’ve run our own tests.
